Support for two additional EtherCAT cycle times
Support for two additional EtherCAT cycle times
Triamec Servo Drives deliver seamless EtherCAT integration with a wide range of supported cycle frequencies, including 0.5, 1, 2, 2.5, 3.3, 5, and 10 kHz (corresponding to EtherCAT cycle times of 2 ms, 1 ms, 500 µs, 400 µs, 300 µs, 200 µs, and 100 µs, respectively). The control loop always runs at 100 kHz, independent of the EtherCAT cycle frequency.
With firmware version 4.28.2, support has been extended to include two additional cycle frequencies: 4 kHz and 8 kHz (corresponding to cycle times of 250 µs and 125 µs, respectively).
This added flexibility makes it easier than ever to combine high-precision Triamec axes with other servo drives on a single EtherCAT master — optimizing both performance and cost.
A typical application is the combined operation of Triamec and Beckhoff servo drives on the same EtherCAT master at 4 kHz or 8 kHz.
